- Dismantling the old Shovelhead system-unit covers
The pipeline which leads up to the back Shovel system-unit cover of the engine block becomes first dismantled - then the pipeline which connects both system-unit covers.
The nine screws which fasten it on the cylinder head can be solved at the system-unit covers now.
Carefully not damaging around the threads of the studs raise we down the system-unit covers of the cylinder heads now respectively.
(If one decides to also just new tipping over lever shafts and tipping over lever at the reorganization from the front, the next step is dropped.)
Improving tipping over lever shafts and the tipping over levers from the system-unit covers now. If the wear on the shafts and the rockers is good to see or heavy (like the images are showing) we strongley recommend to new these parts also. Is the wear only few or nothing you now may install the parts in the new Knovelheads.
- Assembly of the new Knovelhead rocker boxes
After check of the further usability of the tipping over levers and tipping over lever waves and if necessary exchange by new ones these can be installed into the Knovelheads.. The enclosed "Knuckles" screws form the visible degree at this. Respectively a short and a long becomes screwed together at the front side into the tipping over lever shafts.
Now still the two Knovelheads with new gasket on the cylinder heads, the new oilpipe attached -
and the reorganization is done -
but a bikers work is never done
